To feed her stripe obsession Julia from Cuckoo 4 Design created her own chunky horizontal striped curtains using IKEA panels, acrylic paint, and fabric medium.
Julia’s Crate & Barrel inspiration costs almost $100… for one panel! Julia says, “My painted version is so much cheaper and looks the same!”
It really is amazing how Julia was able to replicate the look so closely. I never would have known the difference!
These curtains work perfectly with a room painted with a cool gray color like Morning Fog put out by Sherwin-Williams. Oh so nice.
Julia was inspired by the Alston Ivory/Grey Curtain Panel from Crate & Barrel.
Check it out at Cuckoo 4 Design.

These look great but I created an even easier look a like with duvet covers from Target. All I did was cut in half and hem tape one side – and they are “lined” because of the white back of the duvet cover. I used gray also but the navy would be cute in a boy’s room http://www.target.com/p/room-essentials-striped-duvet-cover-set/-/A-13886781#?lnk=sc_qi_detailbutton
Andrea, cool idea.
