Painted Stripe Curtains

As I recently shared on Infarrantly Creative, I am changing things up in my family room after about ten years of the same color scheme. My first big undertaking was painting striped curtains. Considering color, pattern, price, and length, I always have trouble finding just the right curtains, so painting my own was the perfect option. I absolutely love how they came out and cannot believe the difference they make!

Painted Chevron Rug with Perfect Zig Zags

When it comes to décor, Elisha from Pneumatic Addict Furniture likes to keep things on the neutral side. However, she decided to shake things up in her living room with a chevron rug (just to make sure she wasn’t erring on the “old lady” side). Elisha found a $20 rug at Wal-mart that was perfect for her experiment. She taped off her chevron pattern and painted away. Using her technique, Elisha had only crisp, clean zig-zags and zero bleed!

Painted Stripe Curtains

My painted stripe curtains have been one of the biggest difference-makers in my living room update, so I can totally share in Melissa’s excitement over these curtains she painted for her craft space. Over at The Happier Homemaker Melissa shares how she beat the big price tag for long, pooling panels with the help of IKEA’s budget-friendly prices and some paint samples. I just love those chunky stripes!
