DIY Wood Console With Doors

Finding the perfect piece to house a TV and all the components that go with our ever-present media can be a challenge. Kayleen from Thisoldchair and her husband built the console that flawlessly fits into their decor and stores all those necessary media items.

For you to create this unit, go to the link Kayleen provides and download the plans. The plans give all the supplies and dimensions needed, but they can easily be adapted to suit your personal needs. Because they did not want to deal with creating drawers, the cabinet was built with four cupboards across the front. The original console had the look of an old apothecary chest, so they created faux drawer fronts and applied them to the cupboard doors to re-create the same look.

The unit was then painted with a creamy white paint and then glazed and sanded to give it an antique finish.
