A Taste for the Exotic Feather Lampshade

If your decor can be called wild or exotic, then this lampshade is for you. With a paper lantern from Ikea, some mod podge, and feather boas, Claire from Pillar Box Blue made a very chic feather lampshade.

While looking for some feather lampshades Claire found that many of them cost hundreds of dollars. Not wanting to spend that much, she figured out a way to make hers for about $18.00. Step by step pictures along with a list of supplies will help get you off to a great start in making your own. With the cost savings added in, you will be able to make more than one.

Claire recommends the use of a LED bulb to prevent the shade from getting hot and to use a blow dryer to keep it clean. A great project to add to your wild and exotic decor.

So fun! But I’m curious of how easy it is to clean. Does it get very dusty?
