Escape the Ordinary Plank Table

7:30 PM By Kimberly Chaffee Leave a Comment

Have you found a table at a thrift store that had great legs, but the top was in bad shape? This happened to Stacy over at Anastasia Vintage. She found a sturdy table, suitable for everyday use, but the marble top was off of it, and very heavy.

She took it home and set to updating the table with paint and stain. She used her jigsaw to make a plank inset for the table top. This removed the weight of the top and made it fully functional for everyday use. Staining it both dark and light in recessed areas allowed the medallions to be center stage. This fresh design for an outdated table would work for other vintage items that need a warm makeover.

Unlimited possibilities make this project idea available for coffee tables and end tables. There’s no better time than right now to get your supplies and restore a worn piece of furniture to a charming finish. You will be glad you did.
