Ashley from Seventh House on the Left, shows how a simple furniture piece like a lampshade can change the whole dynamic to a room. Often we fail to look at a lamp shade as a key color focus feature. When in reality, a lampshade can set the mood for a room, by not only the light it produces, but the color on the shade itself. Even more important is to find a shade that compliments the base of the lamp.
When Ashley first saw this lamp, she had passed it up due to price. When she went back a while later, the price had been reduced, so she rescued it from the clearance aisle. The next step was to purchase a complimentary lamp shade to the base, and then set out to make that work in her decor.
She loved the look from Target’s Threshold Line, and bought a shower curtain to use in covering the shade. With some great instructions, Ashley shows us how to cut, glue, and shape the fabric over the shade. She cautions you to be sure to iron the wrinkles out of the shower curtain first.
This is a great idea Ashley. Who would have thought using a shower curtain to cover a lamp shade would work out so well? This project is quite simple, and covering a lampshade to enhance your decor is certainly well worth the effort.
