Carrie from 221 Vision was ecstatic when she finally found the perfect black and white stripe fabric for her new entryway bench. She built the frame using MDF and pine legs before adding a bunch of cushioning and the fabric. This was Carrie’s first “made from scratch project,” as she claims to find power tools a bit scary. In my humble opinion, she did an awesome job, so hopefully you too will feel motivated to grab a drill or nail gun and get to building!
Carrie was inspired by the Simone Bench from Ballard Designs.

I actually like Carrie’s bench better than the Ballard Designs one because I like the simpler shape of the legs. Great job Carrie! I did over an old piano bench for our master bedroom. Added padding and covered it with a soft animal print fabric.

I agree with Connie! And I love how they set it up with the pillows and that fabulous rusty set of bars over it!!

The homemade bench looks better than the designer one.
