With step by step instructions and Ana explains that you will want to stain the wood prior to screwing it together. She used finished pine for her ladder, but you could use another wood if you want a more rustic feel. After making the proper cuts for the ladder steps Ana attached the boards to create the shelves. These shelves and ladder are designed around her baskets. If you have different baskets in mind be sure they will fit on the ladder prior to making it. If your decor has a more modern style consider painting the shelf black or dark gray. A great beginner project that will function well in any setting.
