Christy at Confessions of a DIYer likes to upcycle rummage sale and thrift store finds to give them new life in her house. She purchased a plain wicker basket and gave it a facelift using paint, twine and a little chalk board. The twine, which she attached to the basket using a glue gun, served a double purpose in this DIY by covering some worn spots while also reinforcing spots such as the handles. In fact, she initially passed by the basket the first time she saw it and only purchased it upon seeing it again during a return trip.
Ultimately Christy chose to use her upcycled basket as a cute way to store extra toilet paper in her bathroom but suggests that it’s not the only use for it.
Here’s Christy’s finished basket upcycle.
