When Brynne from The Gathered Home saw Anthropologie’s Geometira Clock she loved the simplicity and impact of the two-toned clock and decided she wanted to recreate it on her own. While she admits she doesn’t have a proper patina, she saved over $300 and got to bring back the 90’s trend of sponge painting.
To create her Anthropologie inspired copper patina clock she used a round wooden clock face, clock movement, clock hands, copper spray paint, metallic acrylic paint and delicate surface painters tape amongst other supplies. Brynne points out that before you start decorating your clock face you should check the fit of your clock face with your clock movement and clock hands.
While they no longer have it online, here is an image of the original Anthropologie Geometer clock that inspired Brynne’s design.
