What do we do when a piece of furniture is perfect for our decor but is the wrong color? We paint it of course. Lauren from the Blesser House had a problem with a large black table. The color had to go because Lauren wanted a weathered look.
In order to achieve the weathered look she knew she needed to paint it. The point here is that often we see furniture pieces that we love, but shy away from them because we think we must strip everything down.
Why strain yourself stripping down a piece only to repaint it? A good quality chalk paint, sandpaper, and wax will make it into any color you desire. The overall appeal with paint is if you don’t like it, you can always choose another color and paint over it. Do you have a table that would look better in another color? Then try this technique from Lauren. Your decor may benefit from the upgrade.
