Shutters always make a wonderful backdrop when adding decorative items to a wall. If you have modern farmhouse or rustic decor, the shutter look is almost a staple. Colleen from Life on Kaydeross Creek shares with us her wall decor project made from a shutter and drain pipe.
Yes, you read that correctly, it is a drain pipe. If you do not have a rusty drain pipe laying around you may want to use small soup cans or whatever else you decide. Colleen’s shutter started out orange, but with some white paint, she gave it the update it needed for her decor. With some sandpaper, she added depth and a little bit of vintage appeal to the whole project.
If you do not have a shutter laying around, check at your local thrift or vintage store for one. This is a great look if you want to add a bit of vintage and rustic decor to your home.
