DIY Wood Open Shelves

There is probably no one out there who couldn’t use an extra set of shelves for storage somewhere in their house. Of course, you always have the option of choosing a cheaply made boring small bookcase, but Amy who is a guest at remodelaholic has come up with a plan for a small open shelf unit that is both beautiful and functional.

Amy gives us a complete supply list for the unit. She used wood that is readily available at any hardware store, but she also provides us with good advice for using reclaimed wood for this or any other project. The illustrations that go with the step-by-step instructions are very detailed and easy to read. Not only does Amy provide all of this information, but she also has free plans available to download for this project.

This is a beautiful piece of furniture that would be at home in a bathroom, a child’s room, or even as a coffee bar in a living room.
