DIY Refinish An Old Dresser

If you’re like most of us, there’s an old tired piece of furniture that may still be functional but is not attractive. If this is your dilemma, then you’ll have to see how Cassie from cassiebustamante transformed an old dresser into something that is no longer just functional but is now a real standout.

DIY Refinish An Old Dresser

Cassie breaks down the steps to refinishing an oak dresser in a way that is easy to follow. She supplies us with a complete supply list for the project and explains in detail how she sanded the dresser and then applied a thin coat of glaze with a paintbrush. Before the glaze has a chance to dry, Cassie wiped it off with a clean cloth. She then applied a finishing wax to the entire surface of the dresser to protect the wood.

Finally, Cassie replaced all the old hardware with glass pulls which gave the dresser a polished look.
