While Nancy from Marcus Design claims not to be much a DIYer, she completed one fabulous project that totally makes up for all those left undone. Nancy gave a plain IKEA pine chest a dramatic Dorothy Draper inspired makeover. Nancy coated the two chests with black lacquer spray paint and then used a stencil and gold paint to mimic gold inlay. The bronze ring pulls were the finishing touch. Nancy’s chests cost just under $125, which is waaay better than unloading up to four grand for an original.
Nancy was inspired by Dorothy Draper Chests and Dressers.
