Rachel from DIY in PDX is updating her kitchen and really wanted to replace her ugly top cabinets with some beautiful floating shelves.
To keep the look natural, she opted for live-edge alder wood that she got from a reclaimed lumber company.
This gives an organic feel to the kitchen space and really adds a lot of beautiful personality.
The space immediately looks cleaner and more functional without the dark top cabinets!
This is Rachel’s finished shelf space.
Here is a close up of that gorgeous live-edge alder wood.
Head over to DIY in PDX to see how Rachel completed this beautiful look, including the secret to successful floating shelves!
