Have you had problems with pests invading your home?

Whether it be bed bugs or spiders, a pest infestation can be a serious headache.

If you’ve experienced creepy crawlers in your home on more than one occasion, you’re certainly not alone.

In fact, a recent study found that the average home has over 100 kinds of bugs living in it!

Luckily, there are plenty of pest control solutions you can use to get this problem under control.

What are the different types of pest control solutions out there?

I’m walking you through the different types of pest control methods that exist today.

1. Chemical Pest Control

As the name suggests, chemical pest control involves using some type of chemical treatment to keep pests away from your home.

This type of treatment is very popular due to its documented effectiveness, and it’s typically best for homes and places with a severe infestation.

Oftentimes, chemical pest control involves some type of fumigation and it requires residents to completely leave the premises to perform the treatment.

Some people are afraid of using this type of treatment because of the toxicity of the chemicals.

However, organic chemical treatments are available.

You can use these organic chemicals along with fermented or botanic products to get rid of pests.

2. Biological Pest Control

Biological pest control is the most natural form of pest control on the market today.

This method of pest control reduces the number of pests without having any negative impact on the environment.

Substances like bacteria are combined with water to kill pests.

Other biological pest control agents include pathogens and parasites.

Biological pest control is sometimes referred to as natural or organic pest control.

3. Electronic Pest Control

Another common form of pest control is electronic pest control.

This method involves using some form of technology to deal with a pest problem.

One common type of electronic pest control uses electromagnetic waves to target the nervous systems of particular species.

Another type uses ultrasonic devices to penetrate small vermin species.

4. Mechanical Pest Control

Mechanical pest control is also known as physical pest control.

This type of pest control involves using some piece of equipment or a natural barrier to keep pests at bay.

Oftentimes, plastic sheets or nets are used to prevent pests from destroying crops or entering homes.

Many times, mechanical pest control is a last resort if all other methods of pest control have failed.

Or, many people use it in addition to one of the above methods for extra protection.
