Draven of Draven Made found a budget-friendly alternative dishing out $1,000 for a wood and metal bookshelf from Restoration Hardware.
The answer came in an inexpensive metal shelf frame from IKEA.
Draven simply traded out the existing glass shelves for wood ones she had cut at Home Depot.
Unless you are into welding, this is a great starting place for creating a custom metal shelf.
As Draven says, “You could Krylon-spray paint the metal any color, add crown molding to the edges of all the shelves, build a wood base if you don’t like the exposed legs…”
Draven was inspired by the Parisian Cornice Bookcase from Restoration Hardware.
