Wooden Trunk Makeover

We have all seen pieces on the side of the road, in thrift stores, or even at garage sales that were maybe just a little bit too far gone to work our DIY magic on. Amy was given one of those pieces from her father, an old trunk that had clearly been left outside to face the elements. It was dry, cracked, warped, and filthy. Amy from Highstyle Restyle decided to tackle the project anyway, learning a few new tricks to help set warped wood without cracking it and ruining the board. Using a restoration hardware-inspired staining technique, she breathed new life into the old trunk, even keeping the original hardware for a beautiful farmhouse style piece.
