Kristen from Lipstick and Sawdust decided to try out her woodworking skills by taking on her first cabinet build. The piece was constructed for Kristen’s Jewel Box themed guestroom and totally fits the space with decorative corner brackets and shelves loaded with girly toiletries and books. The one thing I always love about Kristen’s builds is that she really knows how to rock what she’s got and can build a beautiful piece of furniture using scraps she already has on hand.
The Shanty 2 Chic sisters never cease to amaze me with their amazing building skills. With the help of Ana White, Whitney recently tackled her largest project to date – a RH inspired sideboard with hutch. It goes without saying that a piece like this is pricey, so what a blessing to be able to build it yourself and save some serious cash. I love that there is hidden storage to hide away extra napkins, table runners, and the like and then the open hutch for displaying all your pretties.
In order to keep her son from digging around in the dirt and mulch, Kristen from Lipstick and Sawdust built a sandbox where he could dig to his heart’s content. She followed plans that Gina from Lady Goats was kind enough to share at Ana White. The coolest thing about Kristen’s build is the bench seats convert to a lid to keep the sand clear of critters and other yuckiness. Since moving into her home, Ashley from Shanty 2 Chic has been haunted by an awkward empty space above her fridge that needed something. While the lack of cabinets might have left most people with underutilized wall space, Ashley exercised her DIY prowess and built a cubby shelf with plans by Ana White. Kitchen, bathroom, playroom, crafting space… I cannot think of a room that couldn’t use a shelf like this!
Jen from The House of Wood is at it again with another fabulous furniture build. Equipped with Ana White’s step-by-step, easy-to-read plans, Jen built her “perfect end table” in 45 minutes. No joke! Jen says, “If you’re timid about building furniture from scratch, this is the perfect starter project for you!”
