No-Sew Butterfly Tea Towel

When Anthropologie sold out of a “swoon-worthy” butterfly dishtowel, Katie from Henry Happened found a way to recreate the look. From the water-color butterflies to the stitching detail to the pom-pom trim, Katie did not leave out a detail. Oh, and she did it all without sewing a thing! This towel is a lovely decorative piece for the kitchen and, like Katie says, “would make luxe gifts to have on hand for the holiday season!”

Wood and Metal X-Style Bench

One of my blogging buddies, Jen from Tatertots and Jello, recently completed a crazy gorgeous master bedroom makeover. One of the things Jen knew she wanted for the space was a bench at the end of the bed, specifically one that with a modern yet rustic feel. Jen found the perfect bench online that offered the clean, simple lines she craved with a reclaimed finish. Since it was a bit too shallow for her space, Jen headed straight to Lowe’s to DIY. She ended up adding metal supports so the bench wouldn’t wobble, which totally adds to the overall design and industrial vibe Jen was after. Well done, my friend!

Yellow Rosette Lampshade Makeover

Angie from Angie’s Roost had plans to make a pair of rosette-covered lampshades for the nightstands in her master bedroom. When a design challenge to recreate an item from Anthropologie came along, she kicked it into high gear and got her rosette making on. Angie first covered her inexpensive white shades with fabric so no white would be peeking through and then covered it with rosettes… lots and lots of rosettes. Angie doesn’t deny that this was a time-consuming process, but how pretty is her new shade???

Burlap Magnolia Blooms for Fall

With the arrival of each new season, Gail from Purple Hues and Me says she loves to visit Pier 1 for inspiration. On a recent trip she saw some pretty handcrafted branches of burlap magnolia stems and was inspired to recreate these lovelies. Gail hit up her fabric stash for leftover burlap and formed it into realistic looking blooms with the help of Mod Podge and floral wire. I love the natural look and texture of burlap for fall!
