Sarah from Life on Virginia Street had her heart set on a wood bead chandelier for her office. Unfortunately, the price tags on the fixtures Sarah loved weren’t cooperating with her design plans. Sarah instead landed on plan B – refabbing an existing fixture. Equipped with spray paint, chalk paint, and wax, Sarah turned a nickel chandelier with green and purple beads into a pretty convincing knock-off. Would you ever guess those aren’t real wood beads?!?

I just love this project from Ahna at Easier Than I Thought because it’s a true example of seeing potential and beauty where others see trash. Ahna took an ugly (and I mean UGLY) old rocker and turned it into a thing of beauty. Literally, it looks like it could be sitting right in Restoration Hardware’s catalog with its nailhead trim, gray-washed finish, and textural linen-like fabric. After diligently looking at thrift stores for months, she found a set of honeycomb lamps that needed some TLC. Lisa from Salt Marsh Cottage was trying to find the perfect dresser for the guest room of her beach cottage when she ran across a beautiful Maine Cottage dresser. It even came in a pale blue-green color that was perfect. The only problem? The $1890 price tag. Lisa challenged herself to recreate the look of this dresser for under $100. However, at $55-$59 a piece, Erin from Elizabeth Joan Designs says you might as well just keep the food in the bag or make your own stylish pet food bin. Of course, crafty sister Erin chose the latter of the two! She hit up the thrift store for a popcorn tin and updated it with some horizontal painted stripes. The canister even has Erin’s Golden Retriever’s seal of approval, so you know it must be pretty awesome {Wink}!
