Faux Metal Pedestal Side Tables

There is no doubt that Joan of Nicer Than New is drawn to pedestal tables. She bought not one but EIGHT at an estate sale. Two of them were from the Bombay company, sporting their signature dark mahogany finish… that was peeling, bubbling, and definitely in need of sprucing up. While drooling over the goodies offered at Joss and Main, Joan spotted an aluminum pedestal table, and the light bulb went off. She happened to have some aluminum colored paint leftover from another project and used it to give these two tables a new life of glamour!

Refurbished Vintage Schoolhouse Lights

Lindsey from Impatiently Crafty LOVES classic schoolhouse lights but sure doesn’t want to pay $200 a piece for them. She has become a master a refurbishing old lights found on Ebay and at salvage stores for much cheaper. With a light sanding, coat of spray paint, and new wiring, they look just like the ones found at high end stores like Restoration Hardware!

Ugly Canvas to Subway Sign Art

As soon as Aimee from The Vintage Estate came across some ugly canvases, she knew they’d be perfect for replicating the pricey subway signs she’d been eyeing from Restoration Hardware. All it took was some paint and handmade stencils for Aimee to give the canvases new life. It just goes to show that you have to use a little imagination in the thrift store aisles and see beyond what is to what could be!

Kilim Upholstered Thrift Store Bench

This kilim upholstered bench made by Lindsay from The White Buffalo Styling Co. is a match made in thrift store heaven! Lindsay, a kilim-loving gal, was in need of a bench for her mudroom. She headed straight to the thrift store where she found a wood and metal bench, a Navajo blanket, and a sleeping bag for batting. She combined the three items together to create this beauty!

Refabbed with Fur {Desk Chair Makeover}

Leslie from Paper Daisy Designs recently rescued a mid-century modern desk from the trash and revived it for her daughter’s bedroom. Of course, a new cool desk needs an equally hip chair! Leslie transformed the run-of-the-mill desk chair that was already into the room into a “furlicious” chair with plenty of personality. How fun is this?!?
