Ever since Vidya from What’s Ur Home Story used air dry clay on another project she’d been thinking of recreating the Anthropologie Chrysanthemum Vase. While making the flowers from clay did take some practice, Vidya says it was well worth the effort. Her DIY flower vase looks remarkably like Anthro’s and cost Vidya nothing since she used an old vase she’s had for years and left over spray paint and clay from other projects.
Amy from Joyful Daisy is at it again with another MacKenzie-Childs knock off! This time Amy made over her mom’s cookie jars with pretty ceramic knobs and painted lids. Here’s from Amy: “These cookie jar lids only took a couple hours with drying time yet look so cute. I snuck over to my mom’s, grabbed her plain lids, painted them up, and returned them before she got home from work! She was so excited and noticed them right away.”
After seeing some glitzy gold chevron glassware, Tamara from Provident Home Design couldn’t help but notice how boring her own plain Jane glasses were. She decided to give her run-of-the-mill glasses a quick makeover with gold nail polish. Here’s from Tamara: “I’ve enjoyed my newly painted glasses so much! Erin from Elizabeth Joan Designs had inherited an old bench from her parents with dreams of giving it a grand makeover. Enter a new baby and cross-country move, and the bench was quickly forgotten. When Erin later found herself in need of additional seating for her daughter’s birthday, she figured it was time to give the bench the update it so desperately needed – the lazy EASY way!
As soon as Amanda from Mommy is Coocoo had a daughter she knew she wanted her to have a dollhouse. She loved the versatility of a bookshelf/dollhouse since her daughter may not want to play with dolls forever but would, of course, always have toys and books in need of storage. Amanda was able to create her own from a secondhand wooden dollhouse in need of a little love. With a fresh coat of paint, it’s the perfect little home for her daughter’s dolls or books and other toys!
