Breanna from 929 Design wanted to recreate an amazing rope orb chandelier similar to what Restoration Hardware is selling for $499. She was able to do it for just under $25! “How?” you might ask… The secret to Breanna’s frugal fixture is that she used hula hoops to create the orb and then used the “insides” from a secondhand fixture for the light. Hula hoops are on the shelves now, so it’s the perfect time of year to make your own orb chandy!
When looking for a bed for her master bedroom, Bridgett from Osie Moats knew she wanted something “earthy, simple, and serene.” She found a bed from West Elm that fit her description but mostly definitely not her budget. Of course, a DIY was in order! Not only did building her own bed save Bridgett a pretty penny ($150 versus $1,099), but it also allowed her the flexibility to modify the dimensions to fit her large mattress.
While switching out her Valentine’s décor for spring, Emily from life{illustrated} decided she needed some eggs to complete her vignette. Right away. Out came the flour, salt, water, and food coloring, and Emily whipped up a batch a pretty blue robin’s eggs lickety split! I simply adore the pop of color in the turquoise thread and how it ties into Terra’s other pillow. Who would think such a little bit of thread would make such an impact!
