Soap and Lotion Labels

8:00 AM By Beckie

Connie at Connie Nikiforoff Designs purchased an inexpensive soap and lotion set from Big Lots and made them look like a pricey set from Williams-Sonoma by simply creating new labels on her computer. The personalized touch adds a little something special and also makes for a great gift idea!

This seems like a total waste of time and money.

I don’t see it as a waste. All it took was a little design work on the computer, which can be pretty enjoyable if you are interested in it….and printing on sticker paper. I happen to like that she upgraded the look with something simple, that makes a big impact. It may be on something small, but some times the details can tell a story.

@Sheri…Yeah, some of my customers and my family think “it’s a total waste of time and money” too. LOL! But like Amber says, sometimes the details are what “makes” it 😉 The only real “cost” extra to this project was a little of my time and a sheet of paper. I would have gotten the cheap brand of soap/lotion anyway 😉

I think it is great. My exact words when I looked at it was “brilliant” and followed with “why didn’t I think of that.” I am a sucker for packaging! I am going to head to the dollar store and make up a bunch of my own! Thanks for the idea.

Personally, I think it’s a great idea — to take something inexpensive and make it look like it cost a lot more. Isn’t that what this site is all about? Whether it’s furniture, accessories, or something simple like this, that’s what *I* come to this site for. Way to go, Connie!

I think this is a really cute idea. It’s that extra touch that goes above and beyond. A great alternative to those generic labels on the soaps I buy. Thanks for the idea!

I love it! Very creative which is the purpose of this site anyway. I don’t understand putting down someone’s idea or taking the time to make a mean comment. That’s the only waste of time I see…

Love the ideas of these sleek labels but rather put them on my own concoctions. I make my own soaps and lotions. A finishing touch in making lovely gifts!

I know a local artist that was featured in Victoria Magazine years ago. He is a printmaker and designed beautiful French labels of his pantry cans, and let his son develop his eye hand coordination coloring the center design on the white labels. Lovely pantry, and the boy developed his hand strength for writing and art coloring the labels.

How interesting! I love the idea of putting them on your own soaps and lotions.

Ooooh I think I should design some labels for my friend who’s now making her own beautiful bar soap. So many possibilities. I’m glad I checked back at this post. Thanks for the idea Donna!
