Welcome in Any Setting Storage Unit

8:00 PM By Kimberly Chaffee

Taking a circular saw to furniture is not for the faint of heart. It takes ingenuity and guts to do take a perfectly good piece of furniture and saw it in half. That is exactly what Heidi from Honeybear Lane did to get a storage unit she could be proud of.

Not only did she hack that shelf apart, she combined it with her Ikea Expedite and made a stylish storage unit. Her addition of a base on the floor allowed her to give some much-needed height to the unit. This also gave the appearance of having a built in look. A sleek and stylish design element which works in any decor.

Her instructions addressed how she screwed the bookcases to the Expedite that allowed one long smooth finish. The addition of boards on top also added to the built-in appearance. This adaptation of adding a bookcase split in two with a storage unit was very clever and turned out beautifully. Great job, Heidi.
