Rope Basket from a Trash Can

March 24, 2015 By Beckie

I have been known to have a bit of a basket obsession. They are just so practical and so pretty at the same time! Tanya from twelveOeight shares how she made an Anthropologie-inspired rope basket from a dollar store wastebasket. Yep, a trash can! Tanya wrapped the trash can with rope and then taped off and painted her geometric design with craft paint. The hardest part is deciding where to put it! Tanya says, “So far it looks cool by my fireplace, at the foot of the stairs, with a plant in it, and full of toys.”

Tanya’s basket is similar to the Handmade Weimar Basket from Anthropologie.
