Framed Skeleton Keys

Instead of paying $99 for framed skeleton keys, Angie from The Country Chic Cottage suggests stalking secondhand stores to make these beauties at a fraction of the cost. A mere fraction of the cost. Like $7 for two instead of $200! Angie pulled it off by pairing a set of reproduction skeleton keys she found at the flea market with thrift store frames. I love how they came out!

Subway Train Art

As soon as Rachel from Holy Craft saw a large framed painting at a garage sale, visions of Restoration Hardware’s classy subway art swirled in her head. She whipped out the paint and vinyl to transform the artwork into a piece she can truly love. And would you believe it cost less than $5 total??? That’s an amazing steal for such a large piece of artwork, especially when you consider the $550 price tag of Rachel’s inspiration!

Chalkboard Office Storage Jars

Erica from Craftivity Designs has been working on her home office and found a cute and thrifty way to store small supplies by repurposing baby food jars. Erica made the jars pretty with paint and then added chalkboard labels for organization. And isn’t everything just better with a chalkboard finish {wink}? This is such a simple project that would be useful throughout the house – spices in the kitchen, bath salts in bathroom, game pieces in the playroom…

Wood Coat Knobs

Anu from Nalle’s House was all settled on modern coat knobs she wanted to purchase for her mini mudroom… and then discovered they simply wouldn’t fit. Anu found a very cost-friendly alternative in some unfinished wood knobs that she finished with a bright blue stain and mounted with double-ended screws. The knob are functional and add a great pop of color to the small space (which is absolutely darling)!
