A close friend of Jeannine from The Concrete Cottage loved the Z Gallerie subway art and wanted to give it as a gift to her dad. When she asked if Jeannine could recreate it, she had a small list of requests: make it personalized, make it a bit less distressed, and make it for way cheaper than Z Gallerie’s! Done, done and done! Jeannnie was able to use her Silhouette, some paint, and a bit of chalk to create a one-of-a-kind gift that nearly brought her friend’s dad to tears!
Lora from Craftivity Designs loves anything globe or map related, so when she saw the Anthropologie Soapstone Globe, she had to recreate it. Lora already had a toy globe on hand that she had picked up at a yard sale for only $2. With some chalkboard paint, it’s now the perfect way to display a sweet note or special quote!

Well, Trish from Uncommon Designs also couldn’t pass up on the adding some major cuteness to her table this Easter with a set of the napkin rings. Trish’s technique results in a seamless finish with bunny ears that are super sturdy and will not fray. Plus, she says they are easy to make and may not cost you a penny if you’ve got the materials on hand like she did!
Erika from Retropolitan wanted to add a bold pop of color to her master bedroom and found a modern zigzag lampshade that she loved. But who spends $250 for lampshades? Definitely not Erika (or me for that matter!). Erika created an awesome replica by hand painting white lampshades she already had. How fun is this?!?
