Downton Abbey Butler’s Bell Memo Board

I know many of you will be shocked to learn that I have never seen Downton Abbey. Nope, not even one episode. However, that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate this cute little butler’s bell memo board made by Amy from Atta Girl Says. Since I am clueless when it comes to the hit series, I’ll let Amy take it away…

Decorative Ship Wheel for a Nautical Nursery

Mable from Lilato Laka shares another fun addition to her son’s nautical-themed nursery with this decorative ship wheel After spying a wood steering wheel at Hobby Lobby for $44, Mable challenged herself to recreate it. Sure, the wheel would have been pretty inexpensive with a coupon, but where’s the fun in that? Plus, Mable already had most of the supplies on hand to make her own. Mabel’s wheel looks so much like her inspiration that I honestly did a double take to figure out which was which!

Perfect Fit Wood and Metal Console Table

Shayna of The Wood Grain Cottage combined two of her favorite elements, wood and metal, to create the perfect console table for her laundry room. She drew up the plans so the table would fit her narrow laundry room just right and then let her welder hubs go to work on the metal frame. Shayna got the honors of roughing up the thick wood top and finishing both pieces. Here’s what Shayna says about her new table: “I am totally smitten. I walk by just to stare at it. WE made this! A-mazing!”

Blue Upholstered Bench with Casters

In my earlier feature of Sarah M Dorsey Design’s painted curtains, you may have noticed the beautiful blue bench situated below the window. That beauty just happens to be another knock-off created by the very talented Sarah. Sarah built the bench frame and then upholstered it and added special details like turned legs and casters. Sarah says she saved on some of her materials and splurged on others to create her bench for around $100. I am so impressed by her mad skills!

Pretty Painted Pattern Curtains

It was love at first sight when Sarah of Sarah M. Dorsey Designs laid eyes on Schumacher’s Zimba patterned fabric. However, at $100 a yard, Sarah was looking at close to $1000 to make multiple window panels. Ouch! Sarah instead recreated the pattern on her computer to make a template and then painted away on some IKEA curtains. Talk about some serious DIY savvy! And don’t Sarah’s curtains look amazing!?!
