A Storage Bench for Every Room in the House

As soon as Whitney from Shanty 2 Chic saw a storage bench from Pottery Barn with a weathered finish and curved lines, she says she knew it had to be done! Whitney enlisted the help of Ana White to draw up plans and then fired up the power tools. I love how the drawers provide hidden storage and can’t think of a room in the house where this beautiful bench wouldn’t be welcome!

No-Sew Ribbon Heart Dishtowel

Katie at View From the Fridge shares a super quick, no-sew project that uses a lot of items most crafters already have … a white dishtowel and ribbon scraps. Katie simply cut and arranged her ribbon and ric-rac on the dish towel to form a heart and then adhered it with fusible web. This is the perfect Valentine’s Day craft to add a little color to your kitchen the cheap and easy way!

Picture Frames to Instant Acrylic Trays

Jenna from Rain on a Tin Roof loves some lucite and can only describe it as “the stuff dreams are made of.” If you are coveting a lucite tray like Jenna was, you have a couple of options – dish out $44 for one from Anthro or make your own for $5. Don’t you wish all decisions were this simple??? Jenna made her tray in less than 15 minutes by literally just flipping over acrylic frames. That’s it! Jenna adds, “And better yet – mine are a bit more blinged out with some fun patterned bottoms!”

Ugly Canvas to Subway Sign Art

As soon as Aimee from The Vintage Estate came across some ugly canvases, she knew they’d be perfect for replicating the pricey subway signs she’d been eyeing from Restoration Hardware. All it took was some paint and handmade stencils for Aimee to give the canvases new life. It just goes to show that you have to use a little imagination in the thrift store aisles and see beyond what is to what could be!
