Georgia & Daughter set out to replicate a pricey doormat from Ballard for Dad’s birthday. They say, “Dad is an avid outdoors man and this will fit perfectly on his back porch where he sits every night watching the backyard wildlife.” The mother-daughter duo simply printed a deer head image, cut it out, taped it onto their plain mat, and applied a couple coats of paint with a round sponge brush. They felt the mat needed a little something extra so they then used painters tape to create a thick border. The possibilities are pretty much endless with this technique!
Georgia and her daughter were inspired by the Suzanne Kasler Antler Personalized Coir Mat from Ballard Designs.
