IKEA Hack Kitchen Cart with Marble Top

Meg of Oliver and Rust was in need of extra counter space in her kitchen and came across a butcher block kitchen island from Williams-Sonoma that fit her needs – just not her budget.

Meg turned to DIY and was struggling to get a plan together until she laid eyes on an old IKEA kitchen-turned-paint cart in her garage.

Meg removed the original paint-splattered butcher block top and replaced it with Carrara marble.

She then painted the rest of the cart with dark gray milk paint and added a towel bar to the side made with vintage brass towel holders. Gorgeous!
