Kathleen at Musings from a French Cottage has her pooch to thank for this project! It was he who destroyed both of her bedside lamps in a month, propelling her to buy new lamps and then refab her original drum shades with a drop cloth slip cover and some paint to achieve the look of a grain sack. This is such a simple way to add a little extra detail to an old or plain shade, and the idea easily extends to pillows and curtains as well!
