One of the biggest problems we run into when we’re furnishing a home is where to store all of the media mess we all have. In an effort to create a reasonably priced, functional yet beautiful solution, Jess from brightgreendoor.com has developed a plan for turning a mid-century dresser into a media console.
Her tutorial is accompanied by step-by-step photos that show the exact process she used to strip, sand and then re-finish the piece she chose. Jess’s inspiration came from a two-toned dresser she saw in a catalog, and she duplicated the look with a maple stain, and then she used a white paint on the drawer fronts. The look is completed for Jess when she re-used the original hardware. The end result has the mid-century look she loves, but it has been updated to fit into her rather modern decor.
Your media console can reflect your taste simply by using different stains and paints.
