After moving into her new home, Chelsea of Making Home Base was in need of extra seating for her screened-in porch. Chelsea knew West Elm’s wood slat bench would be perfect. Not only would it provide a couple of extra seats, but it could also serve as a drop zone after playing outside. Chelsea was able to make her own bench for half the sale price of her West Elm’s inspiration using a few 1x4s. Chelsea finished off her DIY slat bench with a rich dark walnut stain that she is totally loving!
