Cabinet Makeover Using Decorative Metal Insert

Old wooden cabinets are often a real find at thrift stores or flea markets. Sadie from sadieseasongoods discovered a vintage key hook cabinet and revamped it into a piece that is both beautiful and functional.

Her tutorial explains in detail how she did it. After removing the hooks inside the cabinet, she painted it and then went to work figuring out how to makeover the front of the cabinet. The decorative metal sheet she chose for this part of the transformation is readily available at most home goods and some craft stores. Using tin snips, she cut the metal sheet to fit the inside of the cabinet door. The metal sheet is adhered to the door using super glue, and this completed the simple makeover.

Although Sadie is using her cabinet to display her collection of keys, the small hooks would also be perfect to store earrings and other small pieces of jewelry.
