Brook from BeingBrook had some scrap pallet wood kicking around in her garage after completing a couple of pallet projects. After finding some vintage glass door knobs at an estate sale, Brook put one of the wood pieces to good use as a coat rack. Brook literally just sanded it a bit and then added some new glass hooks and the door knobs. Brook calls it her “Easy, economical and eco-friendly way to keep [her] kids coats off the entryway floor!”
Brook’s coat rack is similar to the Schoolroom Hook Rack from Anthropologie.

Cathy,
I was looking for doorknobs for this exact same thng as above but I wanted a combination of misc. doorknobs and metal hooks (with something to keep from tearing a coat). I stopped by a very small antique shop just down the road and I was surprised that as small as they were and I honestly thought they would not have anything i was looking for ~ but they had about 6 misc. doorknobs and numerous metal hooks with the glass covered top hook! They were NOT cheap and I definitely could NOT get what i wanted....because i want a large number of hooks for coats and I will put a horizontal "backing" to run the length of the vertical board and stand framed photos on the horizontal board on top of the coats!! (I do hope that makes sense to you!!) IF you want to understand what I'm doing I'll be glad to explain it to you if you'd like! Best of luck on finding tour doorknobs and glass tipped hangers!! I'd love to see your coat hanger when you complete it!
