Print Your Own Vintage Wall Art

Kerri from Twin Leaf Cottage was inspired by 18th Century armorial art from Restoration Hardware to create her own “super quick, super easy and super inexpensive wall art project.” Sound good??? Kerri isn’t kidding when she says this project is super easy. All she did was find a couple of vintage ephemera images online and have them printed at a copy store for a mere dollar. Kerri then placed her quality prints into frames for her own DIY wall art that looks crazy similar to those pricey prints from RH!

Vintage Framed Map Wall Art

A few days ago I mentioned the State Pride Tour I hosted over at Infarrantly Creative and shared a Pottery Barn-inspired map triptych. Cheryl from Tidy Mom also participated in the fun, representing her home state of Missouri with a framed vintage state map. Cheryl cut her map into four pieces and then placed each one into frames she glammed up with some Rub N Buff. I love the combination of the sophisticated antique map and glitzy gold frames!

Vintage Airplane Blueprint Art from an Old Drawer

As soon as Anita of Inspired Passions stumbled upon RH Baby & Child’s framed airplane blueprint, she knew it would be perfect for her son’s room. However, she also knew it would be foolish to spend so much on it when she’ll probably redecorate in a year or two. Instead, Anita created her own vintage airplane art using a wood drawer, canvas paper, and leftover quarter round. I love how Anita repurposed the wood from the drawer for her sign!

Best of PB #2: Wooden Tray to Hanging Jewelry Organizer

Melissa from A Time for Everything created this vintage piece to hold all of her jewelry. Melissa said, “I love old wood spools and finding new ways to use them, especially after finding a large Ziploc bagful for $2 at a garage sale.  As I was making my jewelry organizer, I knew that spools would be an ideal fit with the burlap and distressed wood I was using.  I incorporated them to hang not only necklaces, but bracelets as well.”

Vintage Sign with a Personal Touch

Bliss of Bliss Ranch was inspired by a vintage drug store sign to make a sign with similar styling for her bathroom. Bliss says she “just couldn’t advertise ice cream so close to [her]bathroom scale” {giggle}, so she modified the wording a bit. What’s really cool is that Bliss actually owns a vintage building that was formerly Sy’s Barber Shop, which is the name she used for her sign. I always love how DIY allows for such  personalizations!
