Steel-Frame Butcher Block Coffee Table

Jenna of Jenna Halvorson Designs needed to find a use for a leftover six-foot slab of butcher block that was taking up precious space in her garage. Her husband had the genius idea to build a coffee table and found the perfect inspiration in a wood and metal table from Restoration Hardware. The couple purchased some steel and enlisted the help of a friend trained in welding. Jenna says, “It looks like a thousand dollar table and is sturdy as a rock. Which is great because it will double as a train table most of the time!”

Thrifted Light Fixture to Glass Cloche

Inspired by glass cloches, like those from Restoration Hardware, Susan of saf affect was on the hunt for a thrifty alternative. She scored two industrial glass light fixture globes at a Habitat for Humanity Restore for only a few dollars. Placed on a tray with a few interesting objects, you’d never guess they were once used for lighting. What a great repurpose!

Print Your Own Vintage Wall Art

Kerri from Twin Leaf Cottage was inspired by 18th Century armorial art from Restoration Hardware to create her own “super quick, super easy and super inexpensive wall art project.” Sound good??? Kerri isn’t kidding when she says this project is super easy. All she did was find a couple of vintage ephemera images online and have them printed at a copy store for a mere dollar. Kerri then placed her quality prints into frames for her own DIY wall art that looks crazy similar to those pricey prints from RH!

Old Frame to Fabric Message Board

When Shauna from Satori Design Living was challenged to turn her home office into a better organized, more functional, and prettier space, she knew a pinboard was a must. Shauna had been wanting a fabric-covered one for years, and it was high time she finally made that dream a reality. Shauna did it on the cheap by repurposing an old art frame she had. With a fresh coat of white paint, touch of gold gilding, and cotton canvas insert, the frame-turned-memo board looks sophisticated and a little glam!

Reupholstered Rocker with Gray Wash Finish

I just love this project from Ahna at Easier Than I Thought because it’s a true example of seeing potential and beauty where others see trash. Ahna took an ugly (and I mean UGLY) old rocker and turned it into a thing of beauty. Literally, it looks like it could be sitting right in Restoration Hardware’s catalog with its nailhead trim, gray-washed finish, and textural linen-like fabric. You’ve got to head over to Ahna’s site to appreciate this miraculous chair makeover and learn how you too can achieve that gorgeous look!
