Handpainted “Watercolor” Wall Art

With a new baby on the way, Camille from My Mommy Style has been busy planning her daughter’s big girl room. She was inspired to create her own colorful, beach house style wall art using retro wall paneling and paint. Thanks to the carefree style of the art and forgiving surface of the paneling, Camille was able to freehand the design for a pretty convincing knockoff.

Upholstered Headboard with Monogram for a Girl’s Room

With three daughters, Jessica from Polkadot Poplars spends lots of time thinking about how to decorate their rooms. For one of her girl’s bedrooms, she worked with her husband to make an upholstered headboard with monogram that’s fit for a princess. It definitely creates a focal point in the room just like Jessica hoped!

Crown Molding Nursery Shelves

When a friend was in need off a ledge to hold her baby’s video monitor, Jaime from That’s My Letter came to the rescue with a set of crown molding shelves. I love the classic look of this design and think it would also make a lovely faux mantle for those without one.  The beauty of DIY is that it allows you to customize your shelf size to perfectly fit your space… and all for a fraction of the cost of a store-bought shelf!

Twenty Buck Outdoor Sawhorse Bench

Last month I shared the gorgeous new outdoor dining table that Whitney from Shanty 2 Chic built for only $85 using plans from Ana White. Whitney again teamed up with Ana to build benches with a similar sawhorse style for only $20. Yep, you heard right… $20!!! That’s only $125 total for a solid wood outdoor dining set that looks like it came straight out of a catalog. The Shanty Sisters have done it again!

Sister Wall Sign from a Pallet

Melanie from It Happens in a Blink is in the process of sprucing up and redecorating a few rooms in her home… all at the same time. With a preschooler and triplets, I can only imagine Melanie needs all the quick and easy projects she can get. Fortunately, this wooden wall sign she made fits the bill in terms of time and money. By using a free pallet and common crafting supplies, Melanie created her sign with practically no expense!
