Wood and “Metal” Console Table from Scraps

Monica from East Coast Creative says her entryway was in desperate need of a “stylish, but functional table.” Like a $1,099 table from Pottery Barn made from reclaimed wood and steel – except without the $1,099 price tag. Actually, it came with no price tag at all! Monica used wood she had leftover from other projects to build the table and then finished it off with spray paint and stain. It’s amazing how much the metallic spray paint looks like metal. Sure had me fooled!

Rustic Wood Console Table

Katie from Addicted to DIY had been wanting a console table to fill a “dull, empty space” by her front door, but her husband wasn’t game on spending a $1,000 for one. Katie came up with the brilliant plan that they save their hard earned cash and build a table instead of buy one. With the help of Ana White, the couple completed their very first build together and have a lovely new console table to show for it!

Wood Framed Flatware Kitchen Art

Nick from Lifestyles of the Rich and the Davis’ was happy to oblige when his wife requested a trio of flatware canvases for their dining area. With the help of Photoshop, Nick created his own stencils and painted the spoon, knife, on fork onto the canvases. Now, many would of stopped there, but Nick wasn’t done yet! He then turned the “disjointed set of silverware” into a statement piece by building a wood frame. I love how it brings the whole piece together!

Nautical Rope Mirror with Anchor

Decorate Me Diana was shopping at the Pottery Barn Outlet when she came across an amazing round rope mirror that she was sure she could replicate. I mean there’s nothing too difficult about gluing rope around a mirror, right? I love Diana’s even more than PB’s. The little anchor detail she added to the bottom makes it over-the-top cute for her son’s nautical-themed bedroom!

DIY Armillary for Less Than $10

Christin from Pregnant with Power Tools loves “décor that goes beyond the norm,” like the armillary which she describes as scientific, mysterious, and gorgeous. You can add expensive to that list since even a “cheap” one from Pottery Barn cost $130! Thankfully, Christin shares at Someday Crafts how she made her own for less than $10 using embroidery hoops and a thrifted candlestick. She says, “There are so many ways you can personalize this! More rings, or fewer, with or without arrow or inner sphere, different bases, colors, sizes!!! I can’t wait to see what you make!
