But, of course, they come at a price, and a rather steep one at that! Nicole from DIY in Real Life found a way around those annoying price tags by updating secondhand brass light fixtures with black paint and rope. They ended up costing Nicole about $20 a piece, which is a steal compared to the fixtures she had been eyeing from Ballard and Restoration Hardware.

Angie from The Country Chic Cottage shows how easy it is to turn a plate charger into a stylish mirror with just a couple of simple steps. It literally was as elementary as gluing a round mirror to the thrifted charger and then adding a ribbon to the back for hanging. All in all, it cost Angie $1 and less than 15 minutes to make her woven mirror!
