Best of PB #6: Counter Height Craft Room Table

When working on the sewing/craft room in her house, Brook from BeingBrook really wanted a counter height table. For her birthday, her husband built her a large craft table using Ana White plan, and then Brook painted it a soft aqua to coordinate with the rest of the space. Brook says, “It’s just what my craft room needed, and I spend lots of time working on my projects and helping my kids create things too!”

Best of PB #4: Storage Cube(icals) Craft Table

Beth from NashvillePug was in need of a new crafting table with lots of storage and plenty of space for sewing. To meet her needs, Beth used two Closetmaid Cubeicals to form the sides of her new table and 2 by 6 beams for the top. This is such a simple project thanks to Beth’s genius brainstorm to use the Cubeicals!

Best of PB #3: Platform Storage Bed for a College Dorm Room

Becky from Reinventing the Ordinary loved the look and functionality of a Pottery Barn storage bed for her daughter’s college room but needed a cheaper alternative. Surprisingly, college tuition doesn’t really leave an extra $1000 sitting in the bank for a bed! Becky created a fabulous $100 version with some beadboard, molding, and plywood that fit their needs (and budget) to perfection!

Vintage Sign with a Personal Touch

Bliss of Bliss Ranch was inspired by a vintage drug store sign to make a sign with similar styling for her bathroom. Bliss says she “just couldn’t advertise ice cream so close to [her]bathroom scale” {giggle}, so she modified the wording a bit. What’s really cool is that Bliss actually owns a vintage building that was formerly Sy’s Barber Shop, which is the name she used for her sign. I always love how DIY allows for such  personalizations!

Upholstered Bench with Nailhead Trim

Jennifer from The Chronicles of Home inherited her great-grandfather’s love for  building things with her hands and is now following in his footsteps as an upholsterer. This bench was Jennifer’s first time creating an upholstered piece of furniture, and I’d say it’s evidence that she definitely has a knack for the trade. If you’re wondering about the time commitment that goes into building your own bench AND upholstering it, Jennifer reassures that the whole project took her only five to six hours to complete.
