DIY Wood Tile Nightstand–Without Power Tools!

Chaney from May Richer Fuller Be has been using the same nightstand since she was in college. While it was still in good shape and she liked it just fine, Chaney says the dark wood didn’t go well with the light and airy look of her master bedroom. Chaney decided it was time for a makeover and challenged herself with giving the table a wood-tiled look – without using any power tools. Mission accomplished, and all Chaney needed was an X-acto knife!

DIY Chalkboard Planter–Make Great Gifts!

I don’t know about you all, but this winter has been brutal and has me yearning for spring already. For now, we can at least enjoy some greenery indoors in cute little chalkboard pots like this one from Megan at Make Bake & Love. Megan created the planter to house one of her succulents and had a blast decorating it with fun messages. You could make several to keep on-hand for gifts and simply write fitting messages on the front when gift-giving opportunities come along.

Painted Black and White Herringbone Rug

There is not much that makes a statement in a room like a large graphic print rug. While designing her son’s big boy room, Aggie from Wool and Flax knew she wanted to incorporate a black and white herringbone rug into the space. She also knew she didn’t want to spend a lot of money. Aggie happened to have an old rug in the closet and thought, “Why not make my own herringbone rug!” Out came the paint and tape, and Addie ended up spending only $5 for the fabric medium!

Tree Stump Side Tables with Casters

Emma from A Beautiful Mess had seen tree stump side tables of all varieties – metallic, painted, stained, and even dipped. She didn’t know what finish she wanted, but Emma knew she wanted to give the project a try. She was fortunate to come by a slew of stumps through a friend. After the drying process was complete, Emma went to work, chiseling away the bark, sanding until smooth, and then applying a white stain. I can’t get over the beautiful shape of these stumps!
