Bonnie had been eyeing West Elm’s shams for some time and had even gotten close to buying them despite the hefty price tag. One thing holding her back was the fact that there was a three-letter limit on monograms. Bonnie says, “So what do you do when you can’t get what you want? Make your own!” Bonnie’s workmanship on these is impeccable, and the sweet nicknames on the front are the icing on the cake!
Kris from Driven by Décor had been eyeing Restoration Hardware’s linen pin boards and knew they’d be the answer to her organizing dreams. However, RH’s boards hardly fit her budget or her kitchen wall and its awkwardly placed light switch. Kris turned to DIY and made her own trio of boards using barn wood frames, corkboard, and fabric. They are perfect for taming coupons, invitations, magazine clippings, and all the other papers that like to clutter counters and desks!
Sarah from Sarah M. Dorsey Designs knew exactly what to do with a tree that had fallen down in her backyard – turn it into a shapely, hand-chiseled accent table! Sarah enlisted the help of her husband David, and the couple worked together to remove the bark, cut angles into the stump, sand it smooth, and finally finish it off with paint and glaze. Like Sarah, I love how the glaze brings out the detail of the wood!
