Framed Skeleton Keys

Instead of paying $99 for framed skeleton keys, Angie from The Country Chic Cottage suggests stalking secondhand stores to make these beauties at a fraction of the cost. A mere fraction of the cost. Like $7 for two instead of $200! Angie pulled it off by pairing a set of reproduction skeleton keys she found at the flea market with thrift store frames. I love how they came out!

Santa Pallet Art

Last year Matt and Jacque from The DIY Village created this Santa art from repurposed deck boards for a pallet art look. Matt did a phenomenal job tracing the original image on the computer to create a stencil, and then a little red paint brought Saint Nick to life. As Matt points out, any canvas or wood would be a great backdrop for creating your own piece of inexpensive Christmas art.

Framed Alphabet Art

When it came time to decorate her second child’s nursery, Danielle at House in the South knew she wanted to include an alphabet print. Here’s what she has to say: “After seeing the Alphabet Zoo nursery art from ZGallerie, I ran across a pack of animal alphabet cards by Jenn Ski the creator of the ZGallerie piece. With a few on-hand craft items I used them to make a knock off that I am extremely pleased with.” How cool is it that the cards Danielle found were by the same artist as her inspiration???

Decoupaged Deer Wall Décor

Wall décor comes in many forms and definitely isn’t limited to framed art and canvases. Elisa from The Self Life added some dimension and interest to her daughter’s nursery with a decoupaged deer head created from a craft store figurine. I love how Elisa clustered the deer on the wall with other items for a gallery effect. Too cute!
