Santa Pallet Art

Last year Matt and Jacque from The DIY Village created this Santa art from repurposed deck boards for a pallet art look. Matt did a phenomenal job tracing the original image on the computer to create a stencil, and then a little red paint brought Saint Nick to life. As Matt points out, any canvas or wood would be a great backdrop for creating your own piece of inexpensive Christmas art.

Twig Deer Head

You’ve undoubtedly seen all types of creations made from driftwood. Wreaths, mirrors, Christmas trees… and the list goes on. It was driftwood deer mount that caught the eye of Amy from Atta Girl Says, and she found a way to recreate it with twigs for free. This is a great option since twigs are a lot easier to come by than driftwood for most people.

Poinsettia Tree Skirt

Gail from Purple Hues and Me was truly inspired by a lovely white poinsettia stocking made by Yvonne of StoneGable. When she later stumbled upon an expensive poinsettia tree skirt in Neiman Marcus’ Christmas collection, she knew Yvonne’s tutorial was the ticket to creating her own. I can only imagine it was crazy tedious to cut out all those petals, but the outcome sure is beautiful!

Christmas Tree Pillow

Have I mentioned that I really like DIY pillows? Oh wait… only like a million times! So it’s no surprise that I was ohhing and ahhing over this adorable Christmas tree pillow made by Jamie from Three Scoops of Love. Not only it is pretty to look at, but Jamie added her own twist with removable “ornaments” so her kids can “trim the tree.” That special touch makes me love it all the more!
