No-Sew Butterfly Tea Towel

When Anthropologie sold out of a “swoon-worthy” butterfly dishtowel, Katie from Henry Happened found a way to recreate the look. From the water-color butterflies to the stitching detail to the pom-pom trim, Katie did not leave out a detail. Oh, and she did it all without sewing a thing! This towel is a lovely decorative piece for the kitchen and, like Katie says, “would make luxe gifts to have on hand for the holiday season!”

Festive Fall Tee-Pee Napkins

Michelle from Iron & Twine calls herself a “sucker for festive table linens” and found a way to make an inexpensive set of fall napkins that feature a teepee motif. All Michelle had to do was play around with her design until she found one she liked and then trace it onto her napkins with a fabric marker. She says, “This DIY is so easy ~ if you can draw a triangle, you can do this project!”

Painted Dot Party Glasses

Your typical drinking glass may be functional, but it’s definitely not fun. Kelsey from P.S. Heart shows just how simple it is to transform those boring old glasses into festive and fun glasses. Kelsey says that glass paints worked like a dream. All she had to do was dot away, allowing each color to dry in between application. Now Kelsey has a new set of “party cups” that are perfect for her next get-together.

Kitchen Hook Rack from Forks and Spoons

Carlee of Ladybird Ln had an awkward wall in her kitchen where a chimney had once been. She found a cute utensil hook rack that would be the perfect solution for the space, but it was too pricey and too small. Not a problem for Carlee, who was able to make an even larger hook rack with her own twist for a fraction of the cost. She says, “By finding a fun wrought iron decorative piece and thrift store utensils for mere pennies, I created a one-of-a-kind charming piece that is both functional and decorative. My aprons have never been so happy!”

Yellow Rosette Lampshade Makeover

Angie from Angie’s Roost had plans to make a pair of rosette-covered lampshades for the nightstands in her master bedroom. When a design challenge to recreate an item from Anthropologie came along, she kicked it into high gear and got her rosette making on. Angie first covered her inexpensive white shades with fabric so no white would be peeking through and then covered it with rosettes… lots and lots of rosettes. Angie doesn’t deny that this was a time-consuming process, but how pretty is her new shade???
